Working with us

At CCS people are instrumental to the business. Providing a safe work environment, offering tools to encourage a balanced life, regular training options for career advancement, events for connecting with others, all play an important part in keeping our people safe and well.

Our philosophy is to retain a team and a strong CCS culture on site, and across sites. Whether you work in the office or out in the field, you as an individual have the right to feel connected and supported by your colleagues, managers and the CCS Group as a whole. We believe in helping individuals maintain a healthy life – balancing physical, emotional, financial, and social aspects to cater to the whole you.

Staying in touch

Talking and communicating with one another is key to a productive and supportive environment. CCS hosts a variety of opportunities for the team and their partners to get together, such as:

• regular gatherings and BBQs
• sporting events: cycle rides, bowling & golf days
• free gym membership
• training and workshops
• active social media
• family events such as the Christmas BBQ, charity dinners

A comfortable workplace

The CCS head office and factory is now under one roof on the corner of Dalby and Mildura Streets, opposite the famous Fyshwick markets. Close to the eateries and shopping of Manuka and Kingston, whilst being able to walk across the road for some of the best fresh produce in Canberra, means staff are encouraged to get out of the office, into the fresh air and get some fresh food.

With the factory and warehouse at the rear, including a metal-working and training studio, means that staff from admin to installers to engineers, mix regularly and skills can be learnt or just appreciated.

Realising that a lot of our people are predominantly working in the field and on-site, we provide quality vehicles and equipment, site offices (fully air-conditioned!), tablets and smartphones. We encourage regular visits to the office by technicians, as well as office staff going on-site for toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Apprenticeship program

At any one time, CCS has a number of apprentices in training, and has done so since the very beginning. Some have risen to become managers, and continue to inspire the junior tradesmen and technicians. We believe everyone has had to be the learner at some point in their life, and deserve respect at this important time in their career development.

As part of the CCS Apprenticeship Program, The Apprentice Day Out is an initiative to allow apprentices to develop project management skills. It also gives apprentices the chance to choose a cause for the whole company to apply themselves for a day. The apprentices run the project and the day, giving them a chance to boss the management around – all for a good cause.

CCS takes applications for apprentices in November each year for commencement in January the following year.
